UNCOVER SONGS - Learn To Flip Your Favorite Cover & Write Your Favorite Song - Starts SAT 2/22, 2-5pm PT



As Assistant Musical Director for America's Got Talent, Scott Simons "flips" covers every week on tv, helping emerging artists reveal their artistry by reinterpreting a familiar song. In UNCOVER SONGS, The Songwriting School is proud to put to have Scott teach you these very skills.

Starting Saturday 2/22 at 2pm,  Scott will guide you in flipping a cover to reveal your artistry. Then you'll use that toolbox to begin writing or rewriting an original song to make good on the promise of that cover.

Class will meet for 3 consecutive Saturday afternoons from 2-5pm at historic Enterprise Recording Studios (and over zoom), includes a private zoom conference to get feedback and guidance on your song, and a final performance (optional) that we will film and record. No one has to perform, but we'll all get to enjoy the rediscovery of songs and the discovery of are fellow artists.

SPECIAL FIRST CLASS TRIAL OPTION: You may attend the first class for a fee and IF there is still space, you may enroll in the full class and apply the fee toward the tuition balance. About SCOT SIMONS

Scott Simons voice has been heard all over the world as the singer of the theme of Nickelodeon’s “Paw Patrol”. As a performer and music director, Scott has worked for 15 seasons on America's Got Talent as Assistant Music Director after working all 3 seasons of The X Factor (USA). He also served as Music Director for seasons 3 and 4 of NBC’s Little Big Shots as well as for touring acts such as K-POP global sensation New Jeans. He’s accompanied and arranged for many incredible artists on piano, including Idina Menzel, Leona Lewis, Loren Allred, Pia Toscano, and Aimee Mann. Scott was recently named a Grammy Voting Member in the 2024 class.

As a songwriter and producer, he has worked with writers and artists from all over the world, including Wiz Khalifa, Allen Stone, dance music legends Dirty Vegas, Eurovision Contest winner Lena, and Broadway superstar Shoshana Bean. His original project TeamMate spent years touring the United States, supporting OneRepublic, Bleachers, and Skylar Grey, and has been featured on Huffington Post, KROQ-FM, KIIS-FM, and The Advocate. On TV, TeamMate’s music has been heard on ESPN's Wimbledon coverage, NBC’s Sunday Night Football, Freeform, and The CW in various shows and commercials.

Scott has been an educator for over 20 years and currently serves as a mentor to music students at West Virginia University and has taught at The Songwriting School of Los Angeles.
