YOUNG ARTIST CLASSES SUMMER 2026: Monday 7/20 THRU Friday 7/24 Collaboration: Writing & Recording

SUMMER 2026 The Songwriting School is offering this special week of youth intensive programming in songwriting and recording

YOUNG ARTIST SUMMER INTENSIVE:

COLLABORATION IN SONGWRITING & RECORDING
Monday 7/20 - Friday 7/24, 12:30-4:30pm

  • Arrival, 12:15-12:30pm, Enterprise Recording Studios, Burbank, CA
(specific instructions/directions to be provided the weekend before, with a reminder morning-of)
  • Learn to co-write songs and then to collaborate on the recording and production of a song. We'll develop and deepen the ability to generate, structure, and revise ideas into lyrics and melodies and complete songs. We'll develop a professional skillset to create and collaborate based upon the inclusive principles of improvisation ("Yes, And...").

We'll work in a professional recording studio at historic Enterprise Recording Studios to learn to realize a song in a hands-on creating, performing, and recording environment. Those with no experience will learn some basics and essentials; those with existing DAW experience will get training to advance their skills in engineering and producing.

Our work will encourage each artist to think about their own style and taste and values in the spirit of embracing that uniqueness to lead to meaningful, positive collaboration.

  • Additional Guests & Learning: we'll explore ideas of an artist identity in the music business, and we'll get some training on recording studio vocals
    Tuition for the week: $849

  • Pickup: 4:30pm

PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE for families who require them. Please inquire: TEXT or CALL 818-848-7664 and leave a message -- or email us at info at the songwriting school dot com.

Many graduates of our Summer Young Artist Intensives over the years have gone on to careers in the music business. All can turn to songwriting as a vital means of creative self-expression. One graduate of our program who attended classes with us from age 12 to 17 opened for Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium in London in the summer of 2024 and is playing a US venue headline tour this summer. Whether someone dreams of big stages or just the next stage in their development, our community is one where dreamers are respected, supported, fortified, and encouraged. The curriculum is designed to inspire, instruct, and empower young people of all backgrounds and experience levels to do work they can enjoy and believe in.

In this positive, respectful, challenging class setting, build a strong foundation for a lifetime in your art and craft and the confidence and skills to create songs that matter.
