Meet and learn from Erin Dillon, a former music supervisor who is now Director of Music Curation for Songtradr, how to place your music in film, tv, and commercials in this Free Workshop, Monday June 24, 8pm at The Songwriting School, on-campus and streaming live online.
The night will include an overview of music licensing, a discussion of current and emerging revenue streams and opportunities, and will leave ample time for questions and answers. Learn more about music supervision through the ears of an expert. Also a chance to learn first-hand about the services Songtradr provides to artists and creators to see if they are a good fit for your own catalog.
Our distinguished panelist Erin Dillon will be joined by Karen Dezelle, a singer/songwriter with placements in film and tv who is a music curator at Songtradr and a long-time past student at The Songwriting School.
Want to learn more about sync-licensing? Watch for the return of Placing Songs in Film, TV, & Commercials, on-campus and online, this FALL 2019!
About our Special Guests:
Erin Dillon launched into the music sync world over a decade ago at KCRW and Format Entertainment before moving to the DreamWorks live-action music department. As a music supervisor at Creative Control Entertainment, Erin’s film credits include Muffin Top: A Love Story, The Damned, School Dance, and Empire (FOX) and Power (Starz) for TV. She is twice nominated by the Guild of Music Supervisors for her work on Hit the Floor (VH1) and We the Party (dir. Mario Van Peebles), and has spoken on panels across the globe like Reeperbahn, SXSW, and ASCAP Expo.
As Director of Curation at Songtradr, Erin oversees Songtradr's music briefs and curation team, working with clients such as Netflix, Boeing, Warner Bros., and CBS. Motivated by working with artists and exhilarated by new challenges presented in the ever-evolving music industry, Erin is endlessly inspired by the world around her. (from the Songtradr website)
Karen Dezelle is an LA-based singer/songwriter who sings indie folk, with pop, alt-country, and Americana influences. She writes and composes her own music and has played at famed venues and festivals across the United States and UK, including SXSW, the House of Blues, The Hotel Cafe, Ain’t Nothin But Blues Bar, and The Bitter End. After the success of her 2013, 2014, and 2016 albums, “Lost and Found,” "Bloom, Unfold, Wither," and "Room For Two," Dezelle set to work crafting beautifully emotional songs that make up her latest EP, "Secret in the Heart of the Poet," which was released February 2019. She first learned the ins and outs of sync licensing as a student at The Songwriting School, where she took Placing Songs in Film, TV, and Commercials with music supervisor Lindsay Wolfington. She is a graduate of The Roots songwriting class and Songmakers workshop and has been invited back as a featured guest artist multiple times in Alan Scott's class Co-Writing Songs: The Art & Business of Collaboration.
