SPRING 2019 INTENSIVE WEEKEND SCHEDULE TBA; NEW FORMAT / FULL DETAILS TBA on Monday 3/25/19.
The Intensive will meet over 2 weekends. The first weekend will be open to all interested attendees, in-person or online, and will include the entire Modern Mindset curriculum. The second weekend will be a Masterclass setting for a select group of artists, managers, or parents of teen artists that will include small group coaching, individualized coaching, and one-on-one artist proposal evaluation.
Full details including times of each session, additional programming, and tuition amounts will be released 3/20. If you register in advance of that date, you will be given priority placement in the Masterclass, and if the program tuition is more or less than the amount you paid, you will be credited accordingly.
If you register in advance and are unable to attend the announced dates, your spot will be automatically held for the next round, late Spring. If you are unable to do those dates once they are announced, a tuition refund can be issued, or you can discuss other alternatives that might feel useful and timely.
This intensive, hands-on class teaches you how the music business moves right now, from someone working actively in it, and helps you understand the mindset, techniques, and strategies of innovative artists and entrepreneurs making a serious impact in today’s marketplace. The class will teach a way of examining the modern music industry landscape that is forward-thinking, real-world, real-time, relevant, and vital.
Your instructor believes that this is a Golden Age in the music business for creative people. Rather than lamenting a gloom and doom situation of shrinking revenues, he equips his classes with an inspired mindset, three-dimensional understanding, and an honest appraisal that leads to empowerment and momentum. This is not a class about passive learning; this is a real-world class equipping you to do the work on behalf of your art.
Class culminates in group Artist Case Study presentations, where class teams put to use the concepts, principles, and tasks of the class each week to generate detailed rollout plans for an artist. Groups present these proposals to the artists themselves on the final class. Led by instructor Gaelen Whittemore, former artist manager and publishing/licensing for Ne-Yo's Compound Entertainment and now music executive and artist manager of acts established (2 $short and up and coming (Iyla, Trevor Wesley), class is offered on-campus and online.
