THE THEATER

The Theater is modeled after our favorite acoustic clubs, with a stage, PA, stage lighting, ceiling to floor red curtains, bass traps and diffusors on the wall.  The warm yellow room seats 50+ for special guests, lectures, and performances or we can re-arrange the seating for more intimate performance-based classes and workshops.

THE GREEN ROOM

The Green Room houses The Braheny Bookshelves, a donation of John and JoAnn Braheny and the site of our lending library.  This intimate room is well suited for private lessons and smaller group classes.  The Green Room is aptly named, as it often doubles as "the green room" for guest performers and lecturers.

THE BLUE ROOM

We keep classes at The Songwriting School of Los Angeles small to foster meaningful relationships among class members and allow extensive personal attention from the instructor.  The Blue Room has keyboards, guitars, and bass traps on the walls so that your songs sound good.  The room feels like a creative, safe space to develop and share your art.

THE LAB

The Lab is home to recording and production software classes like Song Creation with Logic Pro 9 and Pro Tools for Songwriters and Producers.  The instructor's desktop is projected onto the wall while you create at workstations using either School iMacs or your own computer.

THE SOUND BOUTIQUE STUDIOS
A boutique studio for creating and capturing boutique sound.

Studio A features a full assortment of analog and digital gear, amps, and instruments. In the Andersen Atelier Annex (The “Triple-A” Room) stands a magnificent Steinway B grand piano, built in 1893 in Hamburg and lovingly restored and maintained by master artisans David Andersen Pianos. With floated floors and an elegant buildout, the studio makes for a creative, inviting home for singer/songwriter projects, song demos, EPs, full-length recordings, as well as voice-over, overdubs, editing, and more.

Studio B is a small, two-room production, editing, and overdub suite with a baby grand piano, also maintained by David Andersen Pianos. We are honored to have been home to Grammy-winning and chart-topping mix engineer Andrew Dawson in residence in Studio B for the past year-plus. Mr. Dawson's engineering credits include Kanye West, L'il Wayne, Common, Jay-Z, Destiny's Child, and many more.

Studio B is currently inhabited by the pop writing and producing team the gooniez (Matt Wong & Jeff Victuelles, with engineer Jason Qwan) and is available for limited hours for production, vocal and voice-over recording, recording and editing, as well as for production work with the gooniez.
